Installation & Handling
Hartmann Conservation frequently installs artwork for museum or institutional exhibitions, or for displays in private clients houses. These services range from attachment of new wall-mounted hanging hardware for framed paintings, prints, and murals; to installation, crating, and transport of multi-piece exhibits; to placement of large complicated artwork installations. The larger of which, generally requires scaffold erection, or the use of scissor/bucket lifts to facilitate. Installation of large-scale paintings/murals may require some onsite final conservation, which might include; filling, inpainting, varnish application, or frame installation.
Packing, Shipping, & Rigging
Hartmann Conservation’s staff can safely and expertly pack and crate your collections for either long-term storage, or for transport. Structurally strong, stable, inert, acid-free materials will be used to house your collections. Your collections will be safely transported to their destination either by Hartmann Conservation staff, by qualified experienced art shippers and handlers, or direct couriering of valuable artwork can be arranged. We also have experience lifting and moving large, heavy or delicate artworks and sculptures.
