Fire Damage

Mold Remediation

Hartmann Conservation is readily available to respond to emergency situations, either in conjunction with, or mobilized by emergency response providers, insurance companies, or government departments.

This can be in response to:

  • fire, flood, mold outbreaks, or natural disasters.

  • vandalism of personal, public properties, or institutions.

  • a request by the affected client.

Frequently, these responses are directly linked to insurance claims resulting from minor to catastrophic events. We urge you to contact us and provide all necessary information without delay so we may act immediately to save your collections and possessions. Any delay to inform us about an event, or to allow us onsite to evaluate, triage, and undertake emergency remediation, can result in permanent damage to your pieces. Some damages that would have been reversible, become permanent if not dealt with in a timely manner; or if collections suffer from water damage (fire hoses, rain, or flood), and are allowed to dry prior to our professional evaluation, the greater the possibly of mold growth, permanent staining, or paper-based collections (artwork, documents, or photographs) sticking together.

Dealing with an emergency situation is always stressful. We strive to build your trust in our ability to provide professional services, and to help get you through your hardship. We can alleviate your stress by providing our services and guidance needed to save, or stabilize your important belongings or collections. We provide a fully insured service, experience, trained personnel, climate controlled secure storage and work facility, and safe packing and transport as required.

We frequently manage, triage, treat, pack, transport, store, and professionally handle all aspects of conservation and restoration for historic artifacts that have been damaged by an emergency event; either on site, or at our state-of–the–art conservation facility. Hartmann Conservation staff, with the aid of our trusted professional colleagues, when required, are capable of handling all types of conservation, including, but not limited to: framed paintings and prints, furniture, textiles, ephemera, decorative objects, china and glassware, and paper-based collections.
