This Claymation sculpture was used in the 1988 movie Beetlejuice, which was directed by Tim Burton, produced by The Geffen Film Company, and distributed by Warner Brothers.

Our client had three identical large safe doors that used to be in one of their government buildings. Through the years, renovations to the building necessitated their removal. Fortunately, they were not discarded.

Hartmann Conservation received this carriage door from B. R. Howard and Associates (Objects Conservators). They had already cleaned the heavily discolored coach lacquer layers from the surface of door, and brought this to us because of the highly decorated painted surfaces.
